Two upcoming events I'm spreading the word about!

Academy 31 is a unique, two-week summer camp for young ladies.  Lots of great info to be found on their website, if you're interested!  Early bird registration ends May 31, and space is limited.  There are also internship staff positions available for girls 18 and older.  Applications for these positions must be submitted by May 15th.  If you are a young lady looking for a worthwhile opportunity for learning and spiritual growth this summer, I highly recommend you check out Academy 31!

A trip to Israel exclusively for home schoolers!

My husband has long desired to visit Israel, and now the opportunity has come his way!  From December 9-19, Nathan will be accompanying Dr. Randy White, his former pastor at First Baptist Church of Katy, Texas, on the trip of a lifetime, and all you home schooling families are invited to join them!

Dr. White has made annual trips to the Holy Land for nearly a decade now, making him an experienced guide and teacher with a true passion for this nation, its culture, its sights, and its Biblical significance.  If you've ever wanted to tour Israel and see the Bible come alive, this is one opportunity you won't want to miss!

Information pertaining to the trip can be found here and here (this part being written by Israelis, so pardon all the grammar errors!).  As you'll see, it is expensive, which is why I am advertising now so you can start saving!  (Remember, garage sales, bake sales, babysitting, etc. are all great ways to earn money on the side!)  And if four or more people from one family go, the price is reduced!

So think about it, pray about it, and see if this trip might be something your family would be interested in.

Of Babies and Basketball

Recently, some of the adults and older students at the Christian school where Nathan coaches basketball have started getting together on Friday nights to play the game themselves.  Nathan was excited to finally get to hit the court himself after standing on the sidelines all season!

White men can jump!

Uh-oh - leg cramps are no fun!

Dribbling his way to victory!

Meanwhile, back at the house, I've been taking more pictures of our chunky monkey!  (Because, after all, grandparents can never get enough!)  ;)

He's getting so big!

Tummy time on the kitchen table while Mommy makes breakfast.

All bundled up and ready for a stroll around the park!

See ya!

Isaac Goes Visiting

Yesterday, we took Isaac to visit some of the elderly members of our church who are unable to come to services most of the time.  It was so fun to see the joy he brought to their day!

The first couple we visited are named Claude and Alice Jones.  They are both 94 years old and struggling with various health problems.  I think the pictures tell it all!

Next, we stopped in to see a widow named Wilma Cordova.  She is in her eighties and lives up in the mountains.  When she comes to town for doctors appointments, she also gets to come to church which is a real treat for her!  We always try to make it a point to visit her at her son's house when she is in town.  As you can tell from the pictures, Wilma also loved seeing Isaac!

Oh, the joy a baby brings!

Little Boy Blue

Yesterday, while Isaac played in his big crib, I experimented with my new camera (!), trying different settings and lighting.

Exercise baby.

The pose he strikes all the time!

Getting tired...

Later in the day, I was able to capture some of his smiles on camera!

Finally, one of his big happy grins to share!

Snuggles with Daddy - precious!

Welcoming Spring

Just when I thought spring had officially arrived...

...we got a snow shower!

I guess here in Taos, April snow showers bring May flowers!

Thankfully, there is sunshine in our home!
(His name is Isaac!)

Excited to welcome spring!
