Nathan and I celebrated our 5th anniversary by spending a few relaxing days in Ohio’s Amish Country.  During that time, our children had fun with Grandma and Grandpa!

Here, Nathan is majorly enjoying a Buckeye Sundae complete with homemade custard from Walnut Creek’s main store. (I’m so glad I traveled with Plexus Block for special treats like these!)

A visit to one of the cheese factories allowed us to sample 70 kinds of cheese and about 8 or 9 kinds of fudge.  Nathan was in food heaven!

We also did a lot fishing at our private little cottage.

The picture doesn’t do it justice, but Nathan thinks this large mouth bass was at least 19 inches long - definitely the biggest I’ve ever caught in my life!

Back at home, I was super excited to get my new workout program in the mail! (Happy early birthday to me!)  I am LOVING it!

I was also super excited to get my Plexus Action Pack complete with the NEW, enhanced formula of Plexus Slim (that now includes impressive prebiotics) and fun samples to share with others!

Silas continues to be a happy, content baby!

When Jesus Comes to Town

My father-in-law wrote a lovely duet for Nathan and me to sing in church featuring his re-written lyrics to "When Christmas Comes to Town," from the Polar Express movie. Here is the video of our church special yesterday. It's not perfect; we were having microphone issues, the piano is a wee bit too loud, the angle of the camera is not ideal, and we could have improved a few notes. But, we had fun learning this song and sharing it with our congregation! Enjoy!

Nathan's Ordination

Last Sunday, my wonderful husband was officially ordained into the Gospel ministry!  While he had been licensed as a pastor prior to leaving our Texas church for this position in Taos, Nathan wanted to wait to be officially ordained until he had finished his Master's degree.  That great accomplishment took place at the end of December.  He now holds a Master's in Biblical Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary and is contemplating the pursuit of a second Master's degree or possibly a Doctorate in the future.  But for now, he is happy to take a break from school, and in the meanwhile, was ready to proceed with an ordination.

It was a special ceremony that took place here at Taos First Baptist Church.  Nathan's parents came into town from Michigan for the occasion as well as several close friends from Texas.

Four generations of Brittons!

Of Cinnamon Rolls and Sleeping Habits

Nathan is the cinnamon-roll expert around these parts, and has developed quite a reputation amongst our church family for bringing delicious homemade cinnamon rolls to various breakfast functions.

The other day, I caught him in action with my camera!

Today, I went to check on Isaac during his morning nap and found him like this.  It's the first time our little roly-poly has rolled over to sleep!

He is so funny because he loves to roll but doesn't care too much for being on his tummy.  He works so hard to flip from his back to his belly and then gets frustrated once he gets there!  We're still working on tummy-time being a happy time! :)

Isaac during his afternoon nap.  Another demonstration of his love for a blankie over his face.  Sweet boy!  He's done so well graduating to his big crib in his own room.  I think he likes the fact that there's so much to look at around him.  We started out this past week just giving him his naps in the big crib, and then tucked him in for his first night there last night.  He slept wonderfully well, and so did we!
