The Taos Touch-a-Truck Event

Today, I took the kiddos to a really fun event at the Taos Youth and Family Center called "Touch-a-Truck."  There, they had the opportunity to see up close a whole variety of trucks and heavy machinery including emergency vehicles, crane trucks, fire trucks, army trucks, cement trucks, tractors, and even a life flight helicopter.  They also had the chance to climb inside these vehicles and look around.  Needless to say, they had a wonderful time!

Lacey poses in the cab of a big dump truck.

The kids got these blue hats at the first truck we stopped at: an ambulance.  They wore them the whole time!

Isaac was fascinated with the big tires on nearly all the trucks we encountered.

Having fun in a tractor!

The helicopter has landed!

Lacey checks out the inside of a city bus.

Isaac likes the money box.

Trying to drive the bulldozer.

Such a big snow plow!

In the cab of the snow plow.  Isaac loved all the buttons!

Some big cranes.

In the cab of the grader.

More fascinating tires.

This was as close as we got to the helicopter since the line to see it was a bit long.

Driving the fire engine.

The cabs of fire engines are gigantic!

Very cool.

Checking out all the nooks and crannies...and the tires, of course.

A BIG truck, to be sure!

A cement truck like the one that visited our church/house this past week!

Riding a 4-wheeler while eating cookies.

Exploring the inside of another cool vehicle!

My big boy having a blast!

River rafts!

A.k.a. trampolines. :)

They were having such a fun time, they didn't want to leave!
But alas - nap time was a necessity. :)
Looking forward to next year's event when I'll have two boys who will have a ball!

Such fun! I still remember going to the fire and police station when I was really little, and it was a lot of fun. I'm sure the kids loved it and will remember it for many years to come!
