Birthday at the Beach!

I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever. Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable. I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works...The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works. ~ Psalm 145 selections

This past weekend was a delightful time spent in God's glorious and majestic creation at the beach! I am so grateful to my sweet family (and Rhonda ~ my adopted "sister" for the summer) for making my birthday extra-special and for the wonderful memories we made together!

Thanks to my Aunt Nora, we were able to borrow a beach house belonging to friends of hers that provided us with a beautiful home setting for the weekend. This was not just any beach house, but a truly luxurious, 5 star accommodation sitting right on a private stretch of ocean!

We arrived Friday evening just in time for a walk along the water before the sun set. Then, the next morning, Rhonda and I rolled out of bed at 6:00 a.m. and dashed down to the beach to watch the sunrise.

At first, the sun was blocked by clouds.

Only this little guy was out at such an early hour!

Such a peaceful time of morning...

My special friend.

Here comes the sun!

"The heavens declare the glory of God!...

...and the firmament showeth His handiwork!" (Psalm 19:1)

I am fascinated by the sky.
The light show the Lord gave us that morning was absolutely stunning...

...so perhaps you can understand why I took so many pictures!

Rhonda trying to get just the right angle...

The fruit of her efforts!

Taking in the breathtaking beauty of the sunrise.

The ever-changing sky.

This is the house in which we stayed. Amazing, isn't it?

This picture is a favorite of mine.

Morning has arrived.

Another view of the house.

The neighbors on one side.

Good morning!

The perfect place for a quiet time with the Lord.
How I enjoyed soaking in the beauty of God's creation!

This one's for Tara. :-)

Welcome to our luxurious beach bungalow!

The kitchen of happiness. :-)

It's breakfast time!

We had great food and fellowship all day long!

Time to hit the beach!

Bathing beauty Nora.

The Rebsch family in the ocean!

Catching rays and riding waves - what better way to spend the morning?

Lunch time was followed by gift opening.

There's a story behind this gift of a camera; one that deserves a blog post of its own!

Time to hit the beach again!

Mom and her sunny smile.

Rhonda loved reading under the umbrella!

Papa looking dashing in his hat. :-)

Mom made the most delicious cheesecake for dessert!

It was a very happy birthday indeed!

Hey Katrina,
I moved to Temple Sunday, but I'll be going back and forth between here and Magnolia a lot this summer. A good friend is getting married in a couple of weeks, and then my brother Jesse is getting married next month. Maybe we can get together one of the times I'm back in town.
