Katelin Is In Labor!

Well, friends, it's official! Baby Day is on the way!

Katelin went into early labor this morning around 2:00 a.m. After laboring at home throughout the morning, she and Nathan went to the hospital at 10:30 a.m. Her labor has progressed slowly throughout the day. Everyone was disturbed to hear that due to a quarantine at the hospital, Nathan was not going to be permitted to stay for the actual hard labor and birth of the baby. This was not good news considering that Katelin needs him as her birthing coach and her translator. We sent out a call for prayer and God has been answering!

The delivery doctor has a son who is also a doctor at the hospital and he speaks English. He is planning on being present for the delivery so that just in case Nathan can't stay, Katelin will have help with the language.

The delivery doctor told Nathan that the night time medical staff are not so strict about adhering to the quarantine rules so if Katelin gives birth tonight, there is a chance Nathan can stay. Hearing this, Nathan asked about the possibility of inducing her to speed things up.

We just got word that they have started Katelin on medicine to induce and broke her water. She is dilated to a 5 and experiencing heavy contractions. It looks like things are moving in the right direction and that this baby just may come tonight! (As of this writing it is 6:38 p.m.)

We would so appreciate it if you would join with us in prayer for the following requests:

~ That Nathan would receive favor in the eyes of the medical staff and be permitted to stay for the birth.

~ That the baby would be born tonight.

~ That Katelin would receive supernatural strength from the Lord. After 17 hours of labor thus far, she is getting tired and the intense work is only now beginning. Please especially pray for her emotions to be uplifted.

~ That Katelin and the baby would be protected from sickness (which is the reason there is a quarantine in effect in the first place).

Thank you so much dear friends! I'll be sure to keep you posted as we know more.
