Actually, there aren't a whole lot of dress options outside that particular store. Katelin went to many bridal stores/salons before the Silver Hanger, and there might have been one or two in the whole shop that were not strapless!
The Silver Hanger is the only store in the whole city that specializes in modest bridal gowns, evening dresses, and prom attire. It was really fun to shop there, but Katelin still didn't find *the* dress.
At this point, she is planning on making it from scratch (with plenty of help!).
The wedding is set for November 7 at Tri-County. They are hoping the new building will be done in time to use.
How exciting!! Y'all must be having so much fun! Keep us up to date on how this new sewing project goes - I am so impressed that she could even entertain the thought of making her own dress!! :) I need her to give me lessons! :) BTW - if you google "modest wedding dresses" you can find several websites with lovely dresses, but I'm not sure how feasible the prices are? specifically: www.beautifullymodest.com, www.totallymodest.com, and www.latterdaybride.com.
Yes, she's looked online quite extensively. However, she hasn't found the right look even there (she has a very particular desing in mind!). Also, the downside to ordering off the internet is you can't try anything on...which is certainly the best way to tell what looks good and what fits.
Katelin is planning on having a friend of ours do most of the sewing (she's a mom of 7 and very experienced!), while Katelin herself will help where she can.
We'll see how it turns out! But no pictures are allowed on the blog until after the wedding day. :) She doesn't want Nathan to get a sneak preview!
Wow! Where did you find such an array of modest dresses?! What a blessing! I remember the fun moments of trying on dress after dress...it's SO special!! Blessings as you continue to plan! May His presence surround you!!

I love the Silver Hanger! My sister and I go there to look for formal dresses. It is truly the only place that carries modest dresses in this area.
Oh wow! I am so happy for her. It must be hard!
Hope everything goes well
