A Sunday In Peru

The view from the stairwell at Iglesia Bautista Calvario.

Delightful murals adorn the walls leading up the stairs to the Sunday school classrooms and nursery.

I helped Pamela with her Sunday school class. She teaches 6-8 year old boys. They were a fun, spunky, attentive group to teach!

They love to color! Pamela's lesson was based on Matthew 6:11, "Give us this day our daily bread." She taught about God's ability to provide all our needs, using the story of the widow of Zarapheth who fed Elijah to illustrate her point. Then, she had the kids draw pictures of a house with a table of food to make application to their own lives.

Luis was very proud of his picture. He did a great job!

At the end of class, the boys received rewards based on how many stickers they had earned for good behavior.

In the evening service, I enjoy playing the piano while Sarah, Andrew, and Abbey played along on their instruments.

Interspersed throughout the musical part of the service, various young ladies gave testimonies about what God had taught them at the Doncellas de Dios retreat.

The Earnharts sang "Born to Die."

Uncle Jonathan preached a great message about the reason Jesus was born in a manger. I was excited to be able to understand it!
