July 2, 2011

1. God is my refuge and strength; a very present help!

2. Beautiful mountains to see every day

3. God's safety in travel

4. The ability to boil water for something hot

5. Precious kiddo kisses and snuggles

6. The opportunity to help shape little souls

7. A cozy room, soon to be my own for a time, and meanwhile, a great roommate!

8. Good rapport with co-workers so far

9. The ability to communicate in Spanish

10. The prayers of friends and family far away

11. Internet hook-up in my room for receiving good news from afar

12. A wonderful, helpful phone call with Mom and Dad for 3 hours this afternoon; Internet working the whole time!

13. Holding a precious baby in church this morning

14. Great times with the children tonight singing, doing dishes, and looking at pictures on my computer

15. An extra blanket on my bed to combat the cold

16. Kiddo hugs at just the right times

17. Encouraging emails from Mr. Cliff, Katelin, Niki, and the Hughes

18. Prayers of the saints back home (especially how God specifically put me on Molly's heart to pray for when she didn't even know how desperately I needed it!)

19. Wise parents

20. Soothing music

21. Protein bars to eat when dinner is missed

22. Encouraging notes from Elena

23. Running water again

24. Snow on the mountain peaks

25. The joy of singing

26. God's Word spoken through Mom tonight and in my own personal Bible reading


July 7, 2011 - the Gifts continue...

27. Gladness to be stationed here at House 2

28. Josue's adorable smiles

29. A meeting with the director of the ministry today

30. Safety during my first travels alone on public transportation

31. Special time with children and volunteer friends at a pizza place

32. Strength in the midst of sickness

33. A clean bathroom for half the day

34. Water from the backyard hose for flushing toilets

35. A lamp to use in the bathroom at night until the light gets fixed

36. Continuing emails from church family

37. Internet connection for calling home

38. Friendships with fellow volunteers

39. Warmer nights

40. God's Word

What a blessing it is to remember and count each thing we usually take for granted as a special blessing and gift from the Lord. :-) Thank you for reminding me.
